Kevin D. Bobbitt is the founder and CEO of Kemetic Cultural Science and System of Unity (KCSSU). KCSSU is a nonprofit organization established in 2013 that focuses on educating our youth and communities on the knowledge of self and liberation. KCSSU has developed and maintained partnerships which enhance our ability to provide wholesome programs to the community.
KCSSU hosts:
· A literacy program in partnership with St. Matthew AME Church and Shaw University Education Department.
· A Rites of Passage program that focuses on the proper development of boys and girls.
· A community garden, in partnership with Raleigh/Millbank Apartments and SERVECommunities.
KCSSU also hosts Town Hall Meetings and Equity Summits at John Chavis Memorial Park which focus on equity in education, health, social justice, and the dismantling of institutional and systemic racism through equity. Kevin has been recognized on several occasions and honored for the work that KCSSU does in the community:
· The John Chavis Legacy Humanitarian Award, 2015
· The Neighborhood Recognition Award given by the Raleigh East CAC, 2017
· The Trailblazer Award given by NC Fatherhood Conference, 2021
· Bringing Back the Black Father Award given by The Nate McMillan Foundation, 2023
· The Image Award for Social Advocacy in honor of Elizabeth Coffield presented by the Flood Group, 2024
