Dr. TaVshea Smith is an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education with over a decade of experience in the field. She holds a B.S. and M.S. from Shaw University and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University.
Dr. Smith is dedicated to promoting effective educational practices in diverse and inclusive learning environments. Her extensive experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, reading and math interventionist, MTSS coordinator, and adjunct professor, covering K-6 classrooms, college settings, and early childhood, elementary, and middle grades education. Her research and advocacy focus on achieving educational equity for all students, with a particular emphasis on early childhood education, early literacy development, and supporting novice educators.
